Exploring Asheville

Asheville is a vibrant town that hosts a variety of things to do and places to see when visiting. You can hike the Big Fork Ridge Trail, visit the Black Mountain College Museum and Arts Center and see a concert at the Grey Eagle Tavern and Music Hall all in the same day. “Asheville has a really artsy vibe,” said junior Kaitlin Briley.

SGA Recap – May 3, 2012

At Thursday night’s Student Government Association Senate meeting, representatives unanimously agreed to pass a resolution to express sympathy following the death of Elon sophomore Jordan West. The resolution will be transported to West’s funeral early next week, accompanied by a letter to his family. The Senate also passed a bill to allocate $25,000 from the SGA rollover account to the 2012 Homecoming committee.

Sophomore guard will transfer from Elon to University of North Carolina

Elon men's basketball sophomore guard Lucas Weavil will be transferring to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill following the school year, according to head coach Matt Matheny. "He’s going to North Carolina," Matheny said.

New Elon women's lacrosse coach ready for challenge of starting program

Elon University hired Josh Hexter as the head coach for the Phoenix's women's lacrosse team that will start play in 2014. Hexter has been the associate head coach of the Duke University women's lacrosse program since 2010 and has been on staff for the Blue Devils since the 2005 season.
