Alamance Battleground Celebrates Veterans

The Alamance Battleground, named after the Battle of Alamance in 1771, holds historical value because it's said that it hosted the first battle of the American Revolution. The county was named in remembrance, and the local community has since then hosted the week-long living history event to commemorate the lives sacrificed and freedoms gained from that battle. Thompson said he enjoys working there mainly because of the interactions he gets to have with those who have served on active duty. "I've talked to people that've been all over the world," said Thompson.
