Adults flock to the Children's Museum of Alamance County
Just a few miles down the road from Elon, adults gathered on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Children's Museum of Alamance County for games, drinks and the chance to raise money for a play set. The Children's Museum of Alamance County hosted their first adults-only fundraiser, Mallard Mania, themed for the reality show "Duck Dynasty." All the proceeds from the event went to build "My Own Backyard," an outdoor play set currently in development at the museum. The planned expansion of the exhibit will cost $200,000 but the museum staff expects to make $50,000 from the event itself, through their car raffle, silent auction and ticket sales. Not only was Mallard Mania a fundraiser, according to Candace King, Director of Operations at the Children's Museum, who helped plan the event, it also gave the museum a chance to try something different.
