Phoenix hold on for win at Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The Elon women's basketball team took home a 64-58 win over Hofstra on Sunday afternoon, in its final game away of the regular season. The Phoenix jumped out to an early 16-2 lead, holding the Pride scoreless for a five-minute stretch.

No. 2 UNC blows past Elon women's lacrosse

The Elon women's lacrosse team fell 21-2 to the No. 2 ranked UNC Tar Heels Sunday, Mar. 1, in what as a rather one-sided contest. The Tar Heels (5-1) rolled early on, scoring 16 goals in the opening half.

Elon bests Hofsra in final road game of the season

The Elon University women’s basketball team defeated Hofstra University 64-58 on Sunday. Despite having a 24-point lead at the half, the Phoenix narrowly hung on to defeat the surging Pride. The Phoenix started the game on a 9-2 run, and led by as many as 26 points in the first half.

Elon sends seniors out with a bang in rout of UNCW

In the waning moments of the Elon University men's basketball team's 74-55 rout of UNC Wilmington on Saturday night, coach Matt Matheny was able to take seniors Austin Hamilton and Kevin Blake out of the game, to thunderous applause and gave them each a hug of appreciation (in addition to injured forward Ryan Winters). "That's how you want it to be," Matheny said.

Enter Climaxed Fitness; a start-up company formed by Elon juniors Corey Mitchell, Tracey Coppedge, John Silas and Zach Dupree. Their mission statement is to “offer comprehensive and individualized training programs for anyone looking to get fit”, but this foursome of fine young men are much more than just guys looking to Instagram pictures of their biceps. This afternoon, I had the honor of sitting down with Corey Mitchell and Tracey Coppedge to discuss their business plan.

Elon's Campus Kitchen seeks increased funding

Elon University is working with Campus Kitchens across the country to “Raise the Dough,” a weeklong national competition to raise money for educational efforts and food contributions. Elon’s chapter’s goal is to raise $1,800 by Feb.
