BURLINGTON, N.C. — Mayor of Burlington Ian Baltutis '08 is among many millennial mayors across the nation who have endorsed former South Bend Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for president. The group — Mayors for Pete — is actively working on the ground within their individual communities to rally support on behalf of Buttigieg. Baltutis said as mayors, they were excited to see him step up and run for national office.

"Valuing Democracy": Nikki Haley addresses Fall Convocation

Her address comes as the opening of this year’s speaker series, the theme of which, “The Quest for Truth,” focuses on freedom of expression.

Tornado Watch issued for Alamance County extended until 8 p.m.

Mayor of Burlington seeks third term

Alamance County set to participate in state-wide "Tornado" Drill

The Alamance County Emergency Management Department is set to take part in the statewide “Tornado Drill” at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6. The department wants residents to be better prepared for severe weather, like tornadoes, hurricanes and thunderstorms.

From Congress to Elon's campus

Former Congressmen Peter Roskam (R-IL) and Glenn English (D-OK) visited Elon University Monday night as part of the Congress to Campus program. The visit, organized by the Stennis Center for Public Leadership and the nonprofit Former Members of Congress, was fashioned to engage with future leaders to provide a sense of what Congress is like as well as educate students on U.S. political institutions while at the same time encourage those to pursue careers in public service.

SGA senate passes new budget allocation model after heated debate
