Elon Town Council delays vote on Parc Northwest development

Elon Town Council voted to continue the conversation regarding the rezoning request made by GreenHawk Development, a firm which plans to create a mixed use development, Parc Northwest, in Elon. This decision came during the council’s regular meeting July 12, after a month that included a neighborhood meeting, technical review committee meeting and planning board meeting, as well as a public hearing where Mayor Emily Sharpe deemed this rezoning request one of the most contentious rezoning discussions she’s been a part of.

Alamance Democrats approve candidate slate, elect secretary

Beth Kennett, first vice chair of Alamance County Democratic Party opened the July 7 meeting with a call to action. The general election is Nov. 8 and Kennett said the party has a lot of work to do before then and believes party members must work together in order to get the candidates they want into office.

Concerned town of Elon residents speak on Parc Northwest development

The town of Elon held a public hearing for citizens to speak for or against the rezoning request for the eventual creation of Parc Northwest, a mixed use development that would be located on Shallowford Church Road and University Drive. This was one of two public hearings held during Elon’s Town Council June 27 work session meeting.

Campaigning for the North Carolina Supreme Court: Trey Allen

Trey Allen is a Republican running for North Carolina’s Supreme Court. Allen is from Robeson County and in 2021 was appointed General Counsel for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, where he provides legal guidance to a broad range of subjects to court officials across the state.
