New Jewish Fraternity

Elliot Aks, Garrett Mann, Ben Karas, Zach Csillag, and Mason Sklut all had a vision. The five Elon students wanted to bring a jewish fraternity to our campus, and a year later the founding fathers of Zeta Beta Tau the world's first Jewish Fraternity, were initiated. "There's something to be said about having a Jewish Fraternity, the culture, the history, the traditions, there's nothing like it," said Mason Sklut. Each of its founding fathers believe the fraternity will be a good outlet for all Jewish men at Elon. "For me it's not so much about religion, as it is community and culture," said Garret Mann. [div class="alignleft"] [/div] ZBT plans to get involved right away. "In the coming year I plan to build a strong brotherhood within the group, and also work with the other Greek organizations at Elon, as well as the Elon community," said Zach Csillag, President of Zeta Beta Tau. Although the five core members are Jewish, ZBT is not a religiously exclusive Fraternity. "As of now we have 33 founding fathers of our organization," said Elliot Aks.

Softball splits doubleheader with Charlotte

Lending a Paw

About a fifteen minute drive off campus is the Burlington Pet Adoption Center. Open six days out of the week, the center is home to cats and dogs of all ages that are waiting to go to a good home. Visitors to the shelter are able to open the cages and play with the cats, or take the dogs on a walk or to play fetch. Elon sophomore Sonia Berger isn't looking to adopt, but just wants to help in any way she can. "I make sure they're getting all the love and affection they need," Berger said.

Keystone Pipeline not worth its weight in oil

The payoffs are minimal and the risks are incalculable, at least for the United States.  But for TransCanada, the Canadian company in charge of the Keystone Pipeline, the project has sizable value. There’s a lot of misinformation surrounding the Keystone Pipeline.

Elon University, Go Baby Go modify cars for children with mobility challenges

Elon University’s Innovation Hall was filled with the high-pitched hums of electric motors and the sounds of childhood play April 4. The noises came from the first Go Baby Go program at Elon, where the community takes standard electric toy cars and adapts them for children who cannot traditionally operate one.
