Germany's consul general talks transatlantic trade at Elon

With the international economy becoming more and more intertwined, Consul General Christoph Sander of the Federal Republic of Germany came to Elon University Wednesday evening to talk transatlantic trade and ongoing economic issues within his home country. The Business German Speaker Series worked with the Student Professional Development Center to bring Sander to campus.

Writing Center adapts to deal with growth

alt-J shifts sound with ‘This Is All Yours’

The easiest way to understand the difference between alt-J’s debut album “An Awesome Wave” and their new release “This Is All Yours” is in the album art. While “An Awesome Wave’s” cover is edgier, featuring darker colors and alt-J’s classic triangle emblem, “This Is All Yours” features something lighter and more colorful — the abstract color swatches implying a switch from the defined to something more experimental. It’s no surprise that such a shift in alt-J’s sound has occurred between the two albums.

How unaffiliated voters impact elections

The North Carolina primary election starts today. With some voters being able to vote for a Democratic or Republican candidate, unaffiliated voters will have a different experience at the polls on election day. Unaffiliated voters can pick one party’s primary or choose a nonpartisan ballot. Voting in a party primary doesn’t change their unaffiliated status, and their choice carries into any runoff.

LIVE BLOG: 2026 primary elections in Alamance County, North Carolina

Polls across North Carolina opened at 6:30 a.m. March 3 for the 2026 midterm primary elections. In Alamance County, registered Democrats can vote for one candidate each for the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives District 9 and NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 3, and two candidates for Alamance County Board of Commissioners.
