Elon remembers Jacob Rankin Parks III '32

To some, Jacob Rankin Parks III was a skilled hunter. To others, a loving father, brother and grandparent. Within the Elon community, Parks was known as a proud Phoenix and the university's oldest living alumnus, graduating in '32. Parks died on Jan.

A slow first halfs sets Elon back against UNCW

Wilmington, N.C. - A slow first half set the Elon University Women's Basketball team back, as the Phoenix trailed the entire game in a 76-68 loss at UNC Wilmington on Thursday. Coming into Thursday's game, Elon was ranked fourth in the CAA, with a 4-2 record in conference play.

Elon shooting struggles continue in loss to Towson

With 1.7 seconds left on the clock and the Elon University Men's Basketball Team trailing 53-51, Elijah Bryant hoisted a three-pointer from 27 feet away, but like the Phoenix's other attempts-- it didn't fall-- and Towson left Alumni Gym with the win. The shooting struggles continued for the Phoenix, as the team shot just 28 percent from the field, including just 20 percent in the first half. But despite the poor game offensively, Elon was in it the whole time, and even had a chance to take the lead with 31 seconds to go.

Johnson adds power, poise to blossoming Elon lineup

From one court to another, Malaya Johnson has added an undeniable spark to the Elon University women’s basketball team. After playing basketball and volleyball in high school, Johnson decided to focus on basketball has had an immediate impact on the team’s performance, averaging 8.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Team play, depth leading to Elon victories

The transition from the Southern Conference to the Colonial Athletic Association has not yet proven too difficult a challenge for the Elon University women’s basketball team. After a semifinal loss to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Southern Conference Tournament last season, the Phoenix knew it would need to prove itself moving into the Colonial Athletic Association.
