Elon University a cappella group Twisted Measure’s cover of Sia’s “Chandelier” has been featured on websites like Teen Vogue, USA Today and TIME Magazine. Within 36 hours of the BuzzFeed post, the music video received more than one million views and broke the iTunes Top 50. Senior Tyler Meacham, president of Twisted Measure, created the video and the original BuzzFeed post as a way to promote the song. “I often find myself thinking of different ways to promote Twisted Measure, and I think I just found myself searching BuzzFeed for a cappella a few days ago,” she said.

Welsford Bishopric '14 After graduating from Elon University, Welsford Bishopric ’14 landed a position as an Investment Banking Analyst for Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Leveraged Finance group — the job he wanted following graduation. According to Bishopric, the key to getting the perfect job after college is starting a career search early and putting forth the necessary effort. “Work hard in college, but take advantage of freedom that you have while at Elon,” he said.
Elon University’s discussion of race for the 2014-15 academic year began in August with the national story of Ferguson and Michael Brown. It closed May 12 with a rally for respect and racial equality on its campus. Racial activism was present on campus throughout the year. More than 200 people were a part of a “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” group photo in August. A silent protest was staged for racial equality in December during the annual Luminaries celebration. The first part of Elon’s “The N-Word Forum,” an interactive discussion on the racial slur, was held April 30. Recent incidents of racism both locally and nationally spurred marches, forums, vigils and speeches at Elon this year — but according to Associate Chaplain for Protestant Life Joel Harter, these times aren’t any different than the past.

The Phoenix only collected two hits by the end of the game but had its share of scoring opportunities. In the top of the seventh, senior Ryan Cooper led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second when the next batter, sophomore Nick Zammarelli, singled through the right side.

The 17-year-old Honduran girl and her 10-month-old daughter are two of 68,000 children who have crossed the border into the United States alone, fleeing a region rife with violence. The young mother and daughter were ushered into a crowded “cooler,” a shelter at the border, where they stayed for 15 days before being transported to a different shelter in Arizona. “They treated us bad,” the Honduran teenager said.
