Elon Employees Take Advantage of Tuition Remission

According to Bill Burpitt, associate dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, about 10 percent of the Masters of Business Administration students at Elon University are employees of the university. One of the benefits Elon employees receive is free tuition to any classes offered at Elon, also known as tuition remission. Morgan Oliver, director of basketball operations for women's basketball, has been taking MBA classes for about a month.

Women’s lacrosse stifled by Drexel in final game of season

The Elon University women’s lacrosse team lost 10-7 to the Drexel Dragons Sunday. The loss marks the team’s fifth in Colonial Athletic Association play this season and effectively eliminates the Phoenix from advancing into the CAA Tournament. “They did a very good job at detaining our cutters,” said head coach Josh Hexter.

Elon community runs 5K to raise awareness for H.O.P.E.

Over 230 Elon students, faculty and community members participated in the Run for H.O.P.E 5K on Saturday, April 18 on campus. H.O.P.E., which stands for Health Outreach Program of Elon, is a student-run pro bono clinic that provides those in Alamance County and the surrounding area with free physical therapy treatment.

EAS hosting inaugural Africa Week

Senior Omolayo Ojo saw other college’s African Societies sponsoring a week solely devoted to Africa and knew it was something Elon University needed. After learning from schools like Wake Forest University, Duke University and North Carolina A&T State University, Ojo is finally bringing that type of event to Elon. “It’s finding ways to bring African topics to the forefront of various communities,” Ojo said.

Nine-run eighth hands Elon baseball team 14-4 loss

Elon University’s baseball squad has had a dominant offense throughout the course of the season. But after scoring 19 combined runs Friday and Saturday to take the first two games of its road series against Towson University, the Phoenix bats became stagnant. Women's tennis loses 4-1 in CAA semis

The Elon University women’s tennis team was eliminated from the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament following a 4-1 loss to the College of Charleston Saturday.
