Make it five: Women's hoops defeats Furman in Silas' return

The Elon University women’s basketball team extended its winning streak to five games Friday night with a 79-69 win over the Furman University Paladins. Senior guard Ali Ford once again led the Phoenix in scoring with a game-high 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting while also chipping in eight assists. “For me, it’s the fun part to get everyone else involved when you can," Ford said.

Analysis: How Austin Hamilton's injury could affect the men's basketball team

Elon University men's basketball sophomore guard Austin Hamilton injured his leg Monday night against Western Carolina in a big win for the Phoenix. According to media relations, Hamilton is seeing the team physician today but there is "no official word or diagnosis yet." Making snowflakes is an activity children do every year, but on Saturday, January 5th the children in Graham were designing snowflakes for a cause. "We're going to send them to the kids in Connecticut to the Sandy Hook Elementary School," explained nine-year-old Delilah Bose. In response to the Connecticut PTA's nationwide call for the victims of Sandy Hook, Susan Holland organized this event.
