Elon's study abroad program, students confront terrorism scare

Elon University ranks number one by Princeton Review for top study abroad program in the country. According to the university's global education program, more than 75 percent of students study abroad, or complete a 'Study USA' program at least once during their time at Elon.

Softball splits Saturday doubleheader against Hofstra

The Elon University softball team split a doubleheader against Hofstra University Saturday, losing 9-2 in the first game 9-2 and winning 7-1 in the second game. The Phoenix had the lead through four innings in the first game, but a two run home-run by Michaela Transue gave Hofstra the lead in the fifth and then Hofstra converted five hits into six runs to take a 9-2 lead after the sixth inning.

Explosion of paint ignites Holi celebration at Elon

Members of the Elon community lined up on a blue tarp spread across Young Commons Friday afternoon in preparation for this year’s Holi celebration. On the count of three, colorful clouds exploded across Young Commons as participants heaved paint into the air.

Honors Program names new director

Lynn Huber, associate professor of religious studies and chair of the Department of Religious Studies, will be the new Honors Program director beginning fall 2017. She will succeed the current director, professor of anthropology Tom Mould, after shadowing him throughout the upcoming academic year. Mould will remain on staff as an anthropology professor.
