A head-on collision resulted in the death of a Gibsonville woman Thursday night, according to Town of Elon Police. A car crossed the center line and crashed into her car while they were traveling in opposite directions down University Drive.
Janice Denny, 60, was airlifted to UNC Hospital, where she later died from the injuries she sustained. The other driver, Steven Revis, 32, of Burlington, fled the scene of the crash and was later apprehended.
Revis has been charged with felony death by motor vehicle and driving while license revoked and was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $150,000 bond.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing, and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
