The current uprisings in Egypt have been making major national news lately. Have you been keeping up?
Here at Elon, one of the main goals of the administration is to make students "global citizens." I'm not really positive what they mean by that, but if they want students to be concerned about the world around them, both on a public and personal level, I think they've done a pretty good job.

Transitioning back to a schedule from a long, relaxing winter break can be challenging, especially for a new staff at the newspaper.
Each New Year, people around the country make resolutions to lose weight, get fit and become healthier. Students at Elon University are no different. The result? Gym and fitness center traffic increases dramatically after students return to campus for winter term. I spoke to Ross Venturi, campus recreation team leader for fitness, who said choosing a time of day to work out during winter term is key.

Following the recent trend in distinguished grades at Elon University, 25 percent of grades given during the fall 2010 semester were A's while 12.8 percent were B's, bringing the standard GPA to 3.17. Steven House, provost and vice president for academic affairs, said his worries are more centered on the rise of A's and B's among students rather than the increased GPA. "The average grade percentage being 3.17 doesn't really bother me at all," House said.
In transitioning from fall to spring semester, the Bursar's office is responsible for compiling information concerning grade distributions and grade point averages.
