Campus Rec sets goals for the year

After working with IMLeagues last year to switch from a paper format to a new online system for students to register for intramurals, Campus Recreation initially saw a slight decrease in the number of participants.

Long live Ludacris

The crowd jumped, the beat blared and Ludacris delivered Saturday night for Elon University’s homecoming concert in Colonnades parking lot. The concert, sponsored by Student Union Board and Student Government Association, drew a record 5,700 people from across campus and the surrounding community.

Recycling on campus needs additional options

In today’s world, recycling is no longer a foreign word.  Whether or not one recycles at home, many Elon University students are familiar with the concept and know how to separate out plastics and glass products.  The school’s Office of Sustainability makes it difficult to ignore recycling, since events throughout the year, including RecycleMania and the Don’t Trash it!

Ebola slowly spreading to US, isn’t worth the worry

The Ebola virus has reached the United States but it may not be as bad as it seems. Since its initial outbreak in Africa last March, there have been more than 7,000 documented cases of fever caused by the Ebola virus, with 3,349 being classified as fatal.

For Immediate Release Elon Faculty Member Patricia Ragan Receives National Master Faculty Award Alexandria, VA -- Patricia Ragan, PhD, MPH, PA-C, is the recipient of the 2014 Master Faculty Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). The award, presented at PAEA's Education Forum in Philadelphia on Friday, October 17, recognizes a program faculty or staff member with a minimum of seven years of service who has made noteworthy contributions to PA education. Ragan has been involved with PA education for more than 20 years and has served as a faculty member at Elon University since 2011.

Elon swept by College of Charleston for ninth straight loss

The tides had begun to turn and the Elon University volleyball team was building a wave filled with momentum. Six points away from winning the set while holding a 7-point lead seemed manageable. But then, as it has a number of times recently, the wheels rolled off and the momentum came to a sudden halt. College of Charleston chipped away with seven straight points and held off Elon to win a long second set, propelling the Cougars to a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 28-26, 25-21) victory over the Phoenix on Sunday, Oct.

Dr. Danieley shows alumni Elon's transformation on bus tour

President Emeritus Earl Danieley played tour guide Friday, Oct. 17, taking alumni on a BioBus tour of campus. "Can everybody hear me in the back?" Dr. Danieley asked the full bus before departing. Some alumni reserved their spots on the bus early specifically to hear Dr. Danieley tell the tale of a school he's been at for over 70 years. "We got here 45 minutes early.
