Students across the country are used to early mornings and late nights. Most students have long hours of schoolwork during the day and go out with friends Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights to blow off steam and destress after a long week. Senior Valerie Reich is the first student at Elon to get a job at Tony’s Pub-N-Subs where she spends Wednesday and Thursday nights bartending.

David Guetta piped through Whitley Auditorium Saturday night as students and family members piled into their seats for Sweet Signatures’ annual Acappallooza. Each year, one of Elon University’s all female a cappella groups, Sweet Signatures, organizes the event and invites all a cappella groups on campus to join them for a festival of music and fun. “It's a fun way to celebrate each other's talent in a energetic and uplifting setting,” said Hailey Hern, Treasurer of Sweet Signatures.

The Elon University softball team finished a perfect weekend with a 1-0 win in 10 innings over Central Connecticut State University Sunday afternoon. Freshman pitcher Elise Walton threw a complete game shutout, using 122 pitches in 10 innings and scattering five hits while striking out eight. “It was good, my arm felt fine," Walton said.

When walking past the pool in the Koury Athletic Center, you will usually see people swimming or diving but last Friday was not your typical day as Campus Recreation made a splash by clearing the swimming lanes at Beck Pool and dropping in canoes for an event adapted from a classic board game. The game is called Battleship and the title is not the only thing the board game and the Campus Recreation event have in common.
