Study abroad for yourself, not others

Students must decide for themselves what they want their abroad experiences to be. They can choose to go somewhere that will further their career goals or that offers courses specific to their major, or they can choose to go to the same abroad destination as their friends. These options are not mutually exclusive: It’s certainly possible to study abroad with friends and still have an experience that fulfills academic, professional, cultural and personal goals. But that is up to each student to determine for him or herself.

When senior Danielle Williams joined the National Pan-Hellenic Council, or NPHC, her freshman year, she knew that she wanted to be heavily involved in the organization.  By her sophomore year, she did just that, becoming the president of NPHC and the youngest member of the executive board.

Bernie Sanders to hold rally in Greensboro Sunday night

Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is seeking the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, announced earlier today he will hold a rally at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex Sunday at 7 p.m. Although tickets are not required and the event is open to the public, Sanders' campaign website encourages attendees to RSVP in advance. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m.

Dan Faill wants people to be able to look past his title and have students see him as just Dan. "I think most of the dance marathon exec or Elonthon exec calls me Dan the man.

Benevolence Farm: Re-entry program for incarcerated women

Just 17 miles from Elon exists 13 acres of farmland. But unlike the other 8 million acres of farmland in North Carolina, this plot of land hopes to transform the lives of women. "The farm will serve as housing as well as employment for women who are coming out of and returning to the community from prison," said Tanya Jisa, Executive Director of Benevolence Farm.
