On the trip, I learned more about the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the fight for voting rights in our country. Despite winning this fight though, so many young people decide not tovote. It is such a privilege to be citizens of a country that wants to hear our voices yet we decide not to use them. It was junior Kristen Lilley’s first time voting in her state’s primary elections last week. She chose to request an absentee ballot for her home state of Virginia. Lilley said she used the online site TurboVote and went through an easy registration process.

Elon University women's basketball sophomore guard Shay Burnett was named to the Colonial Athletic Association's (CAA) All-CAA First Team Tuesday night, the conference announced on its livestream award show. Burnett led the Phoenix in scoring and rebounding, finishing with 13 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game.
