Elon University students, faculty and staff will be required to get a coronavirus test before arriving on campus this fall. The testing is required in order to participate in fall semester.
The words “we ready, we ready for change” were sung by Rev. Greg Drumwright and a group of about 700 protesters. They marched approximately 1.5 miles to the Confederate statue located at Graham Court Square. Signs in the crowd read “Confederate monuments are racist” and “‘Matter’ is the minimum.”
The cries of protesters could be heard chanting “Hey, Hey, Ho, Ho, Terry Johnson’s got to go” outside the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. The 30-odd protesters gathered outside of the office were calling for the resignation of Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson on July 9.

Elon University announced a new mask policy in which students, faculty and staff are required to wear face coverings while indoors as well as outdoors when six feet of physical distance cannot be maintained. The new mask system went into effect 5 p.m. today.
