Remember, if you can, what the holidays used to be like in school when you were young. Teachers took the time to make the season feel special. For me, they gave us apple cider, and we made paper chains and snowflakes to decorate the classroom.

During the Dec. 13 work session meeting, Elon’s town council voted unanimously to approve the rezoning request for Tax Parcel 108932, the land located at the intersection of University Drive and Cook Road. Previously, according to the town’s Land Development Ordinance, the land was zoned for industrial use and now it is suburban residential.

Davis Cheek takes his spot on the Carolina Panthers practice team as of Dec. 6. The former Elon University quarterback was called up to the team after the Carolina Panthers parted ways with Baker Mayfield midseason Dec. 5, leaving a spot open on the practice team for a new quarterback in the 2022-23 season.

After working for more than three years to get a bid to charter a chapter on campus, Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. is now officially the first Asian-interest sorority at Elon University. The organization was formerly the interest group known as EMPRESS— Elon Maintaining Pan-Asian Respect, Equity and Social Service.
