Alamance-Burlington School System Board of Education swore in three new members at 6 p.m. Dec. 5 in a ceremony. Chuck Marsh, Charles Parker and Dan Ingle were elected in November.

The meeting, held at the school district office, allowed members of the community and school district to watch the new members’ brief ceremony. A regularly scheduled meeting was held shortly after.

Parker said he is going to try to improve the public education system.

“I’m excited to be on the school board at ABSS,” Parker said. “I’m really honored to be given the opportunity to work with the superintendent and the other board members to try and make the best public education system we can for every system and every school.”

Students from Future Farmers of America (FFA) also attended the meeting.

In addition to watching the new members get inducted, they were recognized by the school district for their recent success at the Career and Leadership Development Event for FFA in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Regular Board of Education meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month at the ABSS Administrative Offices Work sessions are held at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are subject to change.
