The group’s members have lived and studied in the country, but often they find education does not translate across the border.

The Elon University Poll results reveal North Carolina voters remain split in their presidential preferences. The two candidates, Republican challenger Mitt Romney and Democratic incumbent Barack Obama, each have 45 percent of the vote in North Carolina, with about 5 percent still undecided.

FLORENCE — When visiting or studying abroad in Florence, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of restaurants. It takes time to tell the tourist traps from local, authentic gems. Everywhere you turn there are a number of places to eat, and all of them look delicious. Then you just cross your fingers that it will not hurt your wallet. Then you go inside, sit down and realize you want to eat every dish on the menu. That’s where I am here to help. I created a list of, in my opinion, the top seven primi piatti, or first course, pasta dishes in Florence that won’t break the bank. These are memorable meals from Italy visitors don’t want to miss.

DAKAR, SENEGAL — Goree, a picturesque island just two kilometers from Dakar’s harbor, provided my first refreshing escape from the busy, dirty city of Dakar to a serene, beautiful island still dotted with colonial era buildings and cobblestone paths. The first edition of the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in Florence took place Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2012. The event offered a range of international brands offering exclusive products. Vogue Italia and the Town-Hall of Florence, with the intention to put the fashion’s world near the great public, organized this event.
