Two Elon University Phoenix showcase skills at NFL level

Before day three of the 2023 NFL draft began, former defensive back Cole Coleman and kicker Skyler Davis — who graduated from Elon in December 2022 — knew that if their names weren't called by the last pick, it wouldn’t have been the end of the line for their football careers. When the draft ended without an Elon player called, they were both still able to secure an opportunity to try out for an NFL team.

Elon University softball fends off St. Francis University in Phoenix Invitational

The Elon Softball Phoenix Invitational rolled on Saturday when the Elon University softball team faced off against St. Francis University on Saturday, Feb.18. Despite a late run by the Red Flash, the Phoenix held on by a final score of 4-3, and were able to pick up its second victory in the tournament. Head coach Kathy Bocock said she was happy the team could add another mark in the win column, but said there was still a lot of room for improvement.

Elon University men’s golf showcases young roster for spring season

The Elon University's men's golf team faced a 180 degree turn when it returned to the links this fall. The team of ten last year was made up of four seniors and two graduate students, and this year, it has just one of each that make up the ten man roster. Now, primarily made up of underclassmen, head coach Don Hill said he’s seen this year’s team bond in ways last year’s group did not.

Elon prepares to flood Rudd Field

A season ago, Elon University’s men’s soccer playoff run ended in heartbreak with a 3-2 loss to Hofstra University in the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament final. While all 30 members of the team were forced to move on, the 21 players that returned to the locker room for the next season would not forget that loss.
