'Twist-or-Treat' event teaches lessons in and out of class

On Friday a group of Elon students hosted a Halloween-themed Twister tournament called "Twist-or-Treat," which raised money to benefit the Positive Attitude Youth Center, an organization that gives local youths a safe and supportive place to stay after school. Students signed up with teams and competed against each other in large games of Twister, some even dressed in costumes. The event was a project for a Programming and Event Management class, which takes a unique approach to learning.

2014 Elon Football CAA Schedule Released

The 2013 football season isn't over yet, but Elon's inaugural football schedule in the Colonial Athletic Association has been released. Elon's first home CAA matchup will be against the University of New Hampshire on Oct.

In November 2003, Michaelle Graybeal decided to pursue her passion for creation by opening All That JAS, a boutique store offering unique apparel and customized merchandise to fit individual styles. Ten years and 70,000 customized shirts later, Graybeal said All That JAS has developed into a highly successful store.

Phoenix dispatches Lynchburg in exhibition play

With 5:34 remaining in the first half of Elon University’s 100-57 exhibition basketball win over Lynchburg College, freshman forward Christian Hairston came up with a steal.  He streaked down the court, eyes on the basket.

From Coach To Mayor

Current Elon town Mayor Jerry Tolley will run for re-election this Tuesday and says he is confident going into the election. "Well when you run unopposed, you feel pretty good," he says. Tolley has held the job for 12 years and still has goals for Elon's future. "We're working with consultants right now to look at the downtown area to see what we can do to revitalize it to get people from all over Alamance County and even Greensboro to make the town a destination place to come to eat, visit and have a good time," Tolley says. As mayor, Tolley helped revitalize the downtown area.
