Elon swept by College of Charleston for ninth straight loss

The tides had begun to turn and the Elon University volleyball team was building a wave filled with momentum. Six points away from winning the set while holding a 7-point lead seemed manageable. But then, as it has a number of times recently, the wheels rolled off and the momentum came to a sudden halt. College of Charleston chipped away with seven straight points and held off Elon to win a long second set, propelling the Cougars to a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 28-26, 25-21) victory over the Phoenix on Sunday, Oct.

Dr. Danieley shows alumni Elon's transformation on bus tour

President Emeritus Earl Danieley played tour guide Friday, Oct. 17, taking alumni on a BioBus tour of campus. "Can everybody hear me in the back?" Dr. Danieley asked the full bus before departing. Some alumni reserved their spots on the bus early specifically to hear Dr. Danieley tell the tale of a school he's been at for over 70 years. "We got here 45 minutes early.

Waterman finds clutch gene as Elon upsets No. 21 UNCW

Construction motion passed, to take away Oaks parking

After hearing arguments last week, the Town of Elon Board of Aldermen passed a motion permitting construction on the area of land next to Skid's Restaurant, taking 30 parking spaces away from the Oaks Neighborhood lot in the process. The land is currently owned by Elon University, and the construction will take away 30 parking spaces from the Oaks Neighborhood parking lot.

Before the season began, the Elon University football team’s Oct. 18 date with Stony Brook University looked like a potential break in a schedule filled with proven national powers. Students walk to end victim blaming

Elon students gathered at Speakers Corner for the Walk Against Victim Blaming on Friday, Oct. 3. The event was put on by EFFECTS, Elon Feminists for Equality, Change and Transformation, as part of a week long event called Survivors Week. The event calls attention to the fact that every one and five female students experience rape, according to the White House.
