Elon escapes Gardner-Webb with 3-overtime win

Through two overtimes, the Elon University football team had run 72 offensive plays for just 184 yards against Gardner-Webb University Saturday night. The 73rd play, a 25-yard touchdown pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Connor Christiansen to freshman wide receiver Corey Joyner, was the deciding play, giving the Phoenix a 21-13 victory over the Runnin’ Bulldogs. “[Joyner] was behind the safety, and so I had to wait for him to get in front,” Christiansen said.

Zenitry opened its doors more than three years ago in Burlington.

Phoenix men's soccer streaking, start season 4-0

The Elon University men's soccer team has started 4-0 for the first time since 2006. The Phoenix wrapped up their weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina at the Courtyard Wilmington-Wrightsville Beach Classic with a pair of victories over Campbell University and the University of North Carolina. Last week, the Phoenix picked up their first two wins of the year with victories over DePaul University and St.
