Column: Examining the academic side of Elijah Bryant's transfer

When word got out that rising sophomore Elijah Bryant planned to leave Elon University, many speculated as to the reason the reigning Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year chose to leave. Earlier this week, Bryant committed to Brigham Young University over Butler University, University of Miami and University of Dayton, all of which offered him. Questions still remained, as Bryant did not respond to requests from The Pendulum and other media outlets that covering Elon.

Gisele Bündchen wore a burqa and people are not happy

Gisele wore a burqa to visit Paris and secretly got $11,000 worth of plastic surgery on Wednesday. Photos of the supermodel show her failed attempt to hide from the paparazzi in a burqa as she stepped into a plastic surgery clinic in Paris, France. Pictures on June 30th also surfaced and show Bündchen walking into the same clinic.

Turns out Australian felines aren’t minding their manners as much as they should, and have been helping themselves to one too many endangered birds. Oops. Gregory Andrews, Australia’s first threatened species commissioner, is plotting to create a law that would make all domesticated cats exclusively indoor cats.

Zayn Malik Goes #Zolo

Zayn girls, rejoice, your hour is nigh — and so is Zayn’s. The 1D-detractor has gone #zolo. His initial tweet was swiftly followed by another with the hashtag #REALME and one that strongly implied he had been planning his solo career for a while now — since his departure from One Direction.

An awkward interview for all

“Good Day Sacramento” hosts were not very pleased with Cara Delevingne’s responses to their interview questions regarding Cara’s new film, “Paper Towns.” The interview started with one of the hosts mispronouncing Cara’s name as Carla, which was just the beginning of one of the most cringe-worthy interviews we’ve seen in a while. After the first question was fired, Cara was ready to respond with a little zing. “I never read the book or the script, actually, I just kind of winged it,” Cara said, before complimenting author John Green. The team eventually had enough before one of the anchors asked if she was in a bad mood or if it was just them. “No, I think it’s just you,” a confused and laughing Cara responded. Before ending the interview, the “Good Day” host suggested the actress “take a little nap, or maybe get a Red Bull,” as Cara whispered under her breath, “Too far.” Holy awkward!

Elon guard Elijah Bryant transfers to BYU

Elijah Bryant, a starting guard for the Elon University men's basketball team, announced Tuesday on his Instagram account that he has transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. The reigning Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year, who was granted his release from Elon earlier this month, also visited Butler University and the University of Miami before visiting BYU over the past weekend.

Skrosky preaches efficiency at CAA Media Day

Former Elon University student arrested for sexual exploitation charge

A Burlington man, who previously attended Elon University, was arrested April 21 and charged with four counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Nikolaos Alexander Fotiou, 18, was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center and is being held there under no bond, as of April 24. According to a Burlington Police Department press release, the Invictus Task Force aided with the investigation.

Meet Elon University’s 2026 Lumen Prize winners

Fifteen students have been selected to receive $20,000 to support their mentored research and projects for the next two years as a part of the Lumen Prize. The 2026 Lumen Scholar winners will work closely with their mentors on their projects during their junior and senior years.
