College Street Taphouse, Town Table To Close

Two off-campus favorites for Elon students are shutting their doors. Town Table closed on August 16 and, according to an Elon Local News exclusive interview on Wednesday with President Leo Lambert and Senior Vice President Gerald Whittington, College Street Taphouse will be closing as early as August 17. Lambert and Whittington said the bar and restaurant are closing for economic reasons. There are not any current plans for what will fill the spaces.

Looking to exit the Southern Conference with a third straight conference tournament championship and a second straight regular season title, the Elon University men’s soccer team announced its 2013 schedule Tuesday. Following arguably the most successful season at the Division I level in 2012 with a 15-5-2 record and a 4-1 record against ranked opponents, the Phoenix follow it up with an 18-game regular season schedule that features nine teams that finished in the top 100 RPI in 2012—three of which finished in the top 25. Elon University students prepare for internship, job searches

From freshmen starting to navigate the professional world to seniors preparing for post-graduate opportunities, understanding how to navigate the application process can make all the difference in landing an internship. “That doesn’t mean they need to start seeking out an internship right away,” Amber Moser, director of internships in the School of Communications, said. “Planning for it and researching and putting the pieces in place to be successful in your first year is really beneficial, particularly if students are double majoring, depending on the kind of double major they have.”
