Proposed overhaul of NC state tax structure concerns Burlington city government

Biosolid application in Burlington remains contested

As long as there are humans, there is going to be sewage. In Burlington, the majority of treated sewage is applied to farmland as a cheap replacement for fertilizer. But some question the safety of this practice.

Elon may develop solar panel project on Loy Farm property

Ten acres of the Loy Farm property on South Oak Avenue may soon become home to a 1.66-megawatt solar panel farm, a joint venture of Elon University and Petra Engineering. The Town of Elon Board of Aldermen will vote on the development of the project next week.
