An Elon University student reported a burglary on James Toney Drive last night. The Town of Elon Police are investigating the incident.
When the Town of Elon Police arrived on the scene, the student said she heard someone enter her house around 10:30 p.m., according to an email sent by Smith Jackson, vice president and dean of Student Life. She was alone at the time. She said the burglar tried to open her bedroom door, but it was locked. The person stole a big screen TV from the living room and left the premises, according to the email.
James Toney Drive is in the Manning Place subdivision of the Town of Elon. Many Elon students reside in the area. In his email, Jackson encouraged students to lock their doors and windows.
