Gender pronoun initiative hopes to fulfill Elon's mission of inclusivity

Students are now being asked to update their gender pronoun on OnTrack, and a form was given to Elon 101 instructors about proper pronoun usage as part of the LGBTQIA Task Force’s latest initiative. When students log onto OnTrack, they’re redirected to a student profile page with a gender pronoun selection.

Elon Eats: Uncovering an aesthetic

Driving through the Graham town square, it's impossible to miss Press Coffee+Crepes. The exterior of the coffee and crepes shop is painted dark blue, a contrast to the light white and pastel facades that line the rest of North Main Street. The interior is just as unexpected — quiet indie music, stone tables, reclaimed wooden chairs, exposed brick walls and , all lit with bare lightbulbs hanging on burnished copper wires from the black applique ceiling.

Men's soccer stands firm in 1-0 win over Detroit Mercy

An early goal and a little bit of luck helped the Elon University men’s soccer team defeat the University of Detroit Mercy 1-0 Sunday night. The Phoenix got on the board early when sophomore forward Jaiden Fortune hit a cross from redshirt sophomore midfielder Marcel Farenholz in mid-air with his right foot and speared it past the Titan keeper for a fourth minute goal.

Elon professor to use lessons from Olympics work in class

Max Negin had a unique view of this summer’s Olympics, one that’ll surely translate to some compelling lectures and lessons in his Communications classes this fall at Elon University. He worked his fifth Olympics for NBC this summer, spending 12-hour days at the International Broadcast Center in Rio de Janeiro as a digital media manager, acting as a gatekeeper of sorts for all the content that’d be distributed across NBC’s platforms.
