This Saturday, Dec. 16, Elon Law will hold its first December commencement. This year Elon law is graduating its first class of students from its 2.5 year curriculum. 

The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. and will be held in Alumni Gym. More than 100 law students will be receiving their law degrees, with North Carolina Chief Justice Mark D Martin speaking.

Martin graduated from Western Carolina University summa cum laude. He then went to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor with honors. From there he went to the University of Virginia and received his Master of Laws in Judicial process. 

Martin has served on the state’s Superior Court, Court of Appeals and been the only active juror on the high court. Martin is the state’s 28th chief justice.
