Before day three of the 2023 NFL draft began, former defensive back Cole Coleman and kicker Skyler Davis — who graduated from Elon in December 2022 — knew that if their names weren't called by the last pick, it wouldn’t have been the end of the line for their football careers. When the draft ended without an Elon player called, they were both still able to secure an opportunity to try out for an NFL team.

Archer had been keeping a close eye on the all-time career singles wins record set by Frida Jansaker ’14 almost a decade ago. After holing out on the 18th green at The Reserve Club at St. James to complete her final round of the Colonial Athletic Association women’s golf championship, senior Svarin Yuenyong began to walk behind the green to greet her teammates. The round was the final of Yuenyong’s Elon career. As she approached her teammates, she was surprised as they presented her with a bouquet of flowers to commemorate the completion of her four years with the Phoenix. As tears began to well in her eyes, she shared a hug with all of teammates and friends.
The Elon University softball team entered Hunt Softball Park to face the University of North Carolina, Wilmington Seahawks in the rubber match of the three-game weekend series. After splitting the doubleheader yesterday, the Phoenix came in hungry and ready to play, defeating the Seahawks 7-5 in comeback fashion. Head coach Kathy Bocock said she knew this was an important weekend for the team.
The Elon University softball team split a doubleheader against the University of North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks on Saturday afternoon, winning game one 6-1 and losing game two 2-1 at Hunt Softball Park. The team also hosted its annual alumni weekend with team alumni taking the field in their former position for the National Anthem.
The Elon University women’s golf team improved on its first-round score by five shots Saturday to move up a spot in the team standings at the CAA women’s golf championship.
