Elon University Dance Team prepares for nationals

The Elon University Dance Team is making its way to compete in Nationals at the National Dance Alliance in Daytona, Florida. The team won first place in 2022 in the Hip Hop division, yet in 2023 placed second. The team hopes to rank at the top for the Hip Hop and Pom Divisions this year.

Elon University joins Reuse Pass for to-go container program

Elon University has started off the 2023-24 school year with a new method of to-go containers, now offering a free app called ReusePass. The app allows students to check out the green to-go containers for up to three days, rather than the previous years where students could trade to-go boxes for carabiners.

Elon University celebrates class of 2023 through baccalaureate ceremony

As seniors prepare to graduate later this week, Jeff Stein, vice president for strategic initiatives, reminded the class of 2023 about their nontraditional four years at Elon. During the senior baccalaureate address, Stein encouraged students to embrace uncertainty after graduation — as they had to do when handling the COVID-19 pandemic.

For sophomore Sophia Kotelly, Monday nights were for gathering with her group of friends and going to Andy’s Frozen Custard for a beginning of the week “pick me up.” Kotelly said she discovered Andy’s during her freshman year when COVID-19 forced her group of friends to be creative about how they would spend their time. Andy’s was voted “Best Sweet Treat” by the Elon community,

Get to know your orientation leaders

From leading new students to their first residential neighborhood meeting to attending the hypnotist event together at Rhodes Stadium, orientation leaders are one of the first faces incoming students see when they arrive on campus. According to Director of New Student Programs Emily Krechel, over 200 applications were submitted this year. There are about 130 orientation leaders.
