A local university is investigating after a student was arrested for having two firearms and ammunition in his dorm room.

19 year-old High Point University student and Massachusetts resident Paul Steber had studied mass shootings and was planning to kill himself and his roommate if he didn’t get into a fraternity.

Steber was charged with two counts of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property, and is being held in the Guilford County Jail on a 2 million dollar secure bond.

A nine millimeter handgun and a double barrel shotgun was found in Steber’s dorm room and seized by police.

The incident is still currently under investigation.
