Mayor Jerry Tolley has declared a state of emergency in the Town of Elon. In a statement released Thursday morning, the town said the Elon Fire Department is monitoring the storm with the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activated.
All emergency shelters are operated by Alamance County Emergency Management with information found on there website or by calling 336-227-1365.
For those who plan to use the emergency shelter, the City of Burlington Animal Shelter is open to hold resident's pets.
