Singer-songwriter Jon Bellion will be here in concert at Elon this weekend as a culmination of homecoming celebrations. As part of the concert, Student Union Board found a student on campus to open for the concert and tie the Elon community even further into the concert.
SUB Concert Committee Director, Colton Cadarette, said Ben Warters was the perfect candidate for the event because of his determination.
“Ben went above and beyond to show us he really wanted to be a part of our show," Cadarette said. "We had an audition packet with different information, we had a sample mix that he made just for us, so we really knew that he was invested and continues to be invested and we are really excited to have him as well.”
Warters said he was ecstatic upon receiving the email about the opener position, and has been preparing since. Warters has been DJing since his freshmen year, but this will be his biggest gig to date.
Warters will start performing at 6:30 Saturday evening on the tailgate stage in the Colonnades parking lot, followed by Jon Bellion at 8:30 pm.
