The Elon University men's basketball team traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia, where they fell to the College of William & Mary, 89-67 Thursday night in a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) game.

Tribe sophomore guard Connor Burchfield eviscerated Elon off the bench, going for 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting on 6-of-7 from long range. Freshman forward Tyler Seibring meanwhile led the way for Elon with 18 points, four rebounds, three assists on 5-of-5 from deep. Junior guard Luke Eddy added 13 points, while freshman guard Dainin Swoope contribute 12 on 3-of-12 shooting from the field.

The loss is the third in four games for Phoenix, with the only victory in come-from-behind style at the College of Charleston on Saturday. Elon is now 3-4 in conference play after previous losses to Hofstra University and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Elon has a tough road ahead, with first-place James Madison University coming to Alumni Gym at 7 p.m. Saturday, followed by road stints at Hofstra University and Northeastern University. There are only two games separating them from the top of the conference, but as it currently stands, the Phoenix is seventh in the CAA out of 10 teams.
