Entering Friday evening's game, Elon head women's soccer coach Chris Neal was sitting on win number 99, but with a 2-0 victory over Gardner-Webb, Neal finally hit the century mark.

"A win always feels great," said Neal. "It's hard to believe it's 100 at this point, but a win is a win."

Goals by Taylor Glenn ('42) and Sydney Schilling ('72), in addition to a combined shutout by keepers Kate Murphy and Sydney Brandon, helped lead the Phoenix (4-4) to victory over the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Elon out-shot Gardner-Webb 10-5 and finished the game with a 10-3 advantage on corner kicks.

Before heading into the locker room for halftime, Glenn headed in her first goal of the season off a corner kick by Bethany Houp. Schilling added an insurance goal for the Phoenix after knocking in a second goal after a cross from Megan Isley

Elon concludes its non-conference schedule and will begin play in the Colonial Athletic Association beginning next Friday when the Phoenix welcome Hofstra to Rudd Field. That game will kick off at 7 p.m.
