After capping off the regular season with a win on senior day, April 12, and finishing with a record of 12-8, three Elon University women’s tennis players were named to all-conference teams April 14, the Southern Conference announced.

For the third straight year, Jordan Johnston was named to the All-SoCon first team, posting a record of 11-8 this season at No. 1 singles.  Johnston and her doubles partner, junior Barbora Lazarova, earned second-team all-SoCon honors after going 8-4 on the season as the team’s top duo.

Elon’s other two seniors — Frida Jansaker and Bryn Khoury — also received postseason accolades, as both were named to the All-SoCon second team for the second straight year.

Jansaker posted an impressive 14-3 mark at No. 2 singles in 2014, and went undefeated in conference play, finishing the regular season with a perfect mark of 9-0.  The senior will enter play at the SoCon Tournament riding a seven-match winning streak, having won 14 of her last 15 matches.

In addition, Jansaker became the third player on her team to win the SoCon Player of the Week award.  Jansaker went 4-0 in the team’s final two matches against the University of North Carolina at Greensboro April 10 and Western Carolina University April 12.  Jansaker also became the team’s sole recipient of the SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week award, an honor she earned Feb. 19.

Khoury finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-5 at No. 3 and 4 singles. She is also streaking and currently owns a six-match winning streak. Khoury will play in her final SoCon Tournament with an 11-2 record in her last 13 singles matches.

The Phoenix will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Southern Conference Women’s Tennis Championships April 17 as the No. 4 seed.  Elon is scheduled to take on No. 5 UNCG at 1 p.m. at the Champions Club.
