Pointed Twitter comments welcomed on Elon's campus

#Elonproblems: A phrase that every student is fast becoming familiar with. If you're an Elon student on Twitter, you may have noticed a recent increase in parody accounts focusing on #elonproblems. Spurring from the popular first world problems meme (and its many, many variations), Elon now has its very own Twitter accounts focusing on the problems on campus.

Aldermen elected

The four candidates were whittled down to three aldermen. Both Mark Greene and Ron Klepcyk won re-election with exactly 502 votes each, while John Peterson joined the town of Elon board as its newest member with the highest number of votes at 541.

Elvis, also known as Wayne Euliss, made a special appearance at the 24th annual Gibsonville Fall Festival this weekend.  Euliss was one of seven performers to entertain the more than 5,000 attendees of the festival.

Student reported missing has returned to campus

5: 21 p.m. Update: Heidi Fuller's roommate, Sunni O'Conner, has reported Fuller is back at Elon. The Pendulum is waiting on a second confirmation. ------------------------ Elon University senior Heidi Fuller has not returned home after attending Dayglow, a popular paint party held at the Raleigh Amphitheater.

Elon man injured in drive-by shooting

A resident of the Town of Elon was injured during a drive-by shooting at the intersection of South Church and Delaney streets Saturday afternoon. James Ricks, of Elon, was shot and treated at Alamance Regional Medical Center for an upper torso and arm injury.

With name change, Student Conduct updates alcohol policy

Students receiving their first Elon alcohol violation will no longer wake up the next morning wondering when their parents will be notified. Serving 10 restitution hours has also been dropped for first time alcohol violators and the fine lessoned from $150 to $50.
