In a 35-0 vote, the Senate approved a reaffirmation of the SGA stance on diversity, which is stated:
This week was hectic but fulfilling. Profiling Darien Flowers allowed me, and our readers, to get to know the new top dog in the SGA as more than just a student politician. Darien is smart and dedicated - he did win the executive presidency, after all - but he's also genuine and engaging. I did my best to portray that in my article.
In short, he’s a voice. When he speaks, people typically listen. And he doesn’t just speak for himself.

I had a lot of fun on the job this week. As the SGA beat reporter, I covered much of the election week and did Q&As with the new executive president and vice-president. I welcomed the constant activity and excitement.

This past week, I had the opportunity to cover Race to the Ballot, a fantastic event that truly unified the Elon community. I spoke to people of all backgrounds and orientations, all united against the passage of Amendment One. I loved being at the forefront of the action and documenting Elon's response to a pertinent and imminent issue. I also spoke to several students and faculty members about the upcoming transition to Moodle, which is approaching more quickly than I initially thought. After interviewing Chris Fulkerson, I realized that the decision to switch is indeed pragmatic. The money saved by switching to Moodle will benefit the university greatly in other areas, and we students will have access to more technology as a result. This week, I look forward to breaking the news of the SGA election results, which will be released Wednesday night. I'm also interested to explore how the SGA budget was allocated last year and how spending may differ in the upcoming year.
