Elon Community Church’s farmers market has been growing as slowly and steadily as the vegetables it has been selling for the past five years. Kicking off this year on April 19, Earth Day, the small, empty patch of grass at the ECC quickly came to life with the hustle and bustle of Elon University students, faculty and staff and local community members sampling jams and cheeses, examining hand-made pottery and birdhouses and learning a little bit more about where their food comes from.

The Elon community’s new handmade art cooperative is all about variety. There is diversity in the type of art displayed, the make-up of the contributing artists and the demographics of the people purchasing the art. It’s this diverse involvement and relationship with the local community that attracts the Elon University students involved with the art co-op.

The Elon University School of Law in downtown Greensboro will expand its campus to make room for additional classrooms, office space and student organization workspace, according to a release from the Office of University Communications. The morning was bright and crisp Saturday for the fourth annual Barbara Sullivan Race for Women’s Health 5k Race. The event, which has been sponsored by Elon University School of Law's Women’s Law Association since the organization was formed, was held at Northeast Park in Gibsonville and brought out 130 participants — the largest number of attendees since the race began in 2009.
