There was a heavy police presence at the Citgo gas station on West Haggard Avenue in Elon around 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 9. Nine police cars were on the scene, including Town of Elon Police, Elon Campus Police and Gibsonville police.
Police surrounded one vehicle, which according to Town of Elon police was tracked by a drone from Burlington Police.
Town of Elon police told Elon News Network the vehicle that was pulled over was tracked by a Burlington drone after it had been suspected of being used in a robbery. That information was passed to Gibsonville and Town of Elon Police by the Burlington Police Department.
Three people were detained by Gibsonville officers on the scene. One detainee, the driver of the vehicle, was released from police custody.
