Alamance County Sheriff Terry Johnson said Watson has a criminal record.

“It really burns me up, you know,” Johnson said. “It happens everywhere else, but what really gets me is the guy that we have in jail, he's got a record. He shouldn't even be out.”

Charles Blackwood, the sheriff of Orange County, said Watson was going to meet with his probation officer and was arrested by their task force.

“When Mr. Watson walked in, they approached him, went to take him into custody, and he tried to run,” Blackwood said. “He fought with them a little bit, but it wasn't much of a fight. We got him in custody, brought him back to Alamance County.”

Johnson said his team is still looking for more people that were involved in the shooting.

“I want the people of Green Level to feel safe,” Johnson said. “They're wonderful people out there. There's a lot of elderly people out there, and they're scared to death. That's why we called this news conference.”
