Elon University seniors capped off the end of their final semester with a night of celebration, games, food and fireworks on May 21 at Rhodes Stadium during the annual Senior Celebration event.
The festivities, which began at 6:30 p.m., featured free food, lawn games and the final gathering of seniors before Undergraduate Commencement on Friday, May 23.
Attendees could receive two free alcoholic drink tickets as a “thank you” for their donation. Donations could be made to any organization, department or cause on campus.
Senior Taylor Scott said the event made her feel like Elon is a family.
“It’s something that I’m always going to remember,” Scott said.
Senior Kyla Maxwell said the event was a great way to reconnect with other seniors she hasn’t seen since freshman year.
“This feels absolutely refreshing to see some people I've forgotten about basically,” Maxwell said.
The lawn games and caricature drawing were two big hits of the night, along with a fireworks show at the end of the event to remember the journey through four years at Elon. Senior Daniel King said it seems crazy to him that Commencement is right around the corner.
“I can't believe we got here, after all these long four years, but I'm excited for what’s coming,” King said.
