Elon University’s women’s volleyball team (10-6) fell to Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson University (16-2) in four sets on Sunday afternoon at Towson.

The match was the second of two contests this weekend between Elon and the Towson Tigers. Elon won the first match on Saturday in four sets. However, Sunday was a different story, as the Tigers defeated the Phoenix in four sets.

Elon entered the road contest with an undefeated 5-0 CAA record, but the Phoenix was unable to overcome the Tigers’ potent offenses, losing 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21

Senior outside hitter Leah Daniel once again led the Phoenix in kills with 18, while senior setter Haylie Clark added 44 assists.

The Phoenix drops to 5-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play, but still sit in first place in the conference standings

Elon’s volleyball team returns to action Saturday, Oct. 9, as the Phoenix host the James Madison University Dukes. The contest features the two top teams in the Colonial Athletic Association’s standings.
