Robin Russell, who worked at Elon's campus bookstore, died last night in her sleep, according to an email from Provost Steven House.

Robin was the wife of Alan Russell, an associate professor of mathematics at Elon. The couple lived in an apartment in Colonnades E (Harper Hall), where Alan works as a faculty director of the Colonnades Neighborhood.

Provost House's email says Robin was an active member of the Elon community, hosting many Colonnades residents in her apartment, or eating in the dining hall or attending the Colonnades Neighborhood events.

The Numen Lumen Pavilion's Sacred Space will be open from 4-8 p.m. for anyone who needs a space for prayers or meditation. According to Provost House's email, associate chaplain, Reverend Joel Harter and a member of the Counseling Staff will also be in the Sacred Space from 7-8 p.m. for anyone who wishes to speak with them.

Tomorrow, there will be a "Gathering of Friends" at 5 p.m. in Numen Lumen for those who want to reflect or share memories of Robin.

For those dealing with loss, Provost House encourages them to contact Counseling Services (278-7280) or the Truitt Center (278-7729). After hours, counselors can be reached by calling Campus Safety and Police (278-5555).
