The Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi has been suspended from Elon University's campus as of March 17th , according to an email sent to chapter alumni from Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity CEO Mark E. Timmes.

The chapter's recognition has been rescinded through January 2017. The student members chose not to appeal the decision and agreed to the two-year suspension.

According to the email, there have been 12 conduct incidents since 2009. In Spring 2014, the chapter was placed on "Preliminary Suspension" by Elon University and underwent a membership review conducted by the headquarters staff.

Earlier this semester, the chapter engaged in hazing activities with the spring associate member class, according to Timmes. The chapter also hosted two separate off-campus events with alcohol, which is in violation of Elon policy as well as sanctions from the National Fraternity. According to the email, one of these events occurred while the chapter was on Preliminary Suspension.

Pi Kappa Phi says they will work with Elon University to bring the Epsilon Alpha Chapter back to campus in spring 2017.
