The Elon University baseball team will face five teams that participated in last year's NCAA Tournament in addition to its inaugural Colonial Athletic Association slate in 2015.
The Phoenix released its 2015 schedule on Friday, which begins with a three-game home series against Penn State University on Feb. 13-15. Elon will play 33 of its 56 games at home.
Elon will play its annual Elon Invitational on Feb. 20-22 at Latham Park, as South Dakota State University, Ball State University and Indiana State University come to town. The Phoenix will also host Wagner College and East Carolina University for three-game nonconference home series.
Home midweek clashes include two games against the University of Maryland on March 17-18 and tilts with High Point University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Wake Forest University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University, Campbell University and Davidson College.
On the road in nonconference action, Elon heads to The Citadel for three games March 6-8. During the week, the Phoenix will travel to High Point, UNCG, Campbell, UNC, NC State, East Carolina, High Point, Wake Forest and Davidson.
In all, Elon has seven games against former Southern Conference foes.
Elon's first CAA series will be March 20-22 at Latham Park against James Madison University. Other home CAA opponents are Northeastern University April 3-5, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington April 24-26 and the University of Delaware May 8-10.
On the road, the Phoenix will meet the College of William & Mary on March 27-29, 2014 NCAA Tournament Super Regional participant College of Charleston April 10-12, Towson University April 17-19 and Hofstra University May 1-3.
Elon went 27-26 in 2014, the first time since 1999 in which the Phoenix did not win at least 30 games. Only five players were lost to graduation.
